Did you beat the icon? See Rio Ferdinand's points in FPL Challenge

Find out how well the Man Utd legend's team performed in Gameweek 4, when Man City and Man Utd players scored DOUBLE points

The Scout takes a look at how many points Rio Ferdinand's team scored in the first FPL Challenge Coca-Cola “Beat The Icon” event.

Managers were invited to beat the Manchester United legend over the weekend in the first of seven such challenges, with Ferdinand ending up on 48 points.

Ferdinand’s side got off to the perfect start in Saturday early fixture, with goalkeeper David Raya collecting his third clean sheet of the campaign in Arsenal’s 3-0 home win over Nottingham Forest.

His decision to pick Everton's Jack Grealish at home to Aston Villa proved an unlucky one.

The winger faced his former club on the back of four assists over his first two starts for the Toffees. He created five chances – joint-top among ALL players in the Gameweek – but failed to collect any returns in the goalless draw.

Ferdinand naturally backed a Red Devils player with the armband, giving the captaincy to Bruno Fernandes.

But that show of loyalty cost him as the Portuguese blanked, while popular captain Erling Haaland scored twice to earn 13 Fantasy points, which was doubled to 26 - and doubled again to 52 for everyone who captained the Man City forward in FPL Challenge.

Ferdinand's decision to also pick Bryan Mbeumo was so nearly justified as the Cameroonian's volley was brilliantly saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Mbeumo had four shots for the Red Devils, taking his total for the season to 12 – second only to Haaland.

Ferdinand’s side collected another two points from Red Devils' centre-back Leny Yoro, who was replaced after 61 minutes while his side were 2-0 down.
