The 2025/26 campaign was always going to start in exciting fashion for Everton, following their move to a brand new home, Hill Dickinson Stadium.
But their best attacking performance of the season so far came on the road last Saturday, as they won 3-2 at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Three different Everton players scored, with two summer signings - Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall - providing all of the assists between them.
Grealish was especially pivotal, back in his native West Midlands and more importantly back on the pitch, following his summer move to Everton on loan from Manchester City. The attacking midfielder only made seven Premier League starts for Man City last season, but Everton manager David Moyes has already handed him two in the first three weeks of this campaign.
Alan Shearer, the Premier League's record goalscorer, has also selected Grealish, in his Team of the Week, recognising the best individual performances in the top flight.
Robin Roefs (Sunderland)
"Yes, I'm picking a Sunderland player again and their new 'keeper deserves it, for saving Kevin Schade's penalty at 0-0. A big moment for him, just a few weeks after joining the club."
Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool)
"He was having a brilliant game at right-back even before he scored the winner against Arsenal. You need something special to beat David Raya and Szoboszlai's free-kick was certainly that."
Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace)
"The captain delivered what we thought would be a fitting send-off, shutting out Aston Villa and scoring the second goal in a brilliant 3-0 away win. Palace fans are delighted he's staying."
Marcos Senesi (AFC Bournemouth)
"The main man at the back for Bournemouth helped to keep Spurs' front three quiet, and also played his part in the winning goal, setting up Evanilson."
El Hadji Malick Diouf (West Ham)
"Only his third game in the Premier League but he seems to have adapted really well. Helped the Hammers keep a clean sheet and capped it with the cross for Callum Wilson's goal."
Yankuba Minteh (Brighton & Hove Albion)
"I had to pick at least one Brighton player after they came from behind to beat Manchester City, and Minteh epitomised their performance with his pace and power."
Lucas Paqueta (West Ham)
"He was being linked with Aston Villa going into the game but Paqueta put that to bed with his penalty and celebration afterwards. The Brazilian was brilliant."
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Everton)
"Carried a threat to Wolves with his runs into the box from midfield, especially the one when he lashed in his first Everton goal from Grealish's pass. Also provided the assist for Ndiaye."
Jack Grealish (Everton)
"It's great to see Jack back on the pitch, making things happen and racking up two more assists as Everton won at Wolves. His loan move has given him a new lease of life."
Watch Grealish's assists for Beto and Dewsbury-Hall
Jarrod Bowen (West Ham)
"The skipper led from the front and grabbed the breakthrough goal in a much-needed win. Just a pity he couldn't score at the end of his mazy run, that would have been a very special goal."
Joao Pedro (Chelsea)
"He's had a brilliant start to life at Stamford Bridge since his transfer from Brighton. Scored for the second game in a row and also cleared one off the line at the other end."
Manager: Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth)
"After all the talk about Bournemouth losing key defenders in this summer, Iraola already seems to have found a solution. His side have kept back-to-back clean sheets, against Wolves and now Spurs, and if they can do that, they have the attacking players to win matches for them, such as Evanilson and Antoine Semenyo."
