The Scout explains what happens when you have four players from one club in your Fantasy Premier League squad after a player moves between two Premier League clubs following the game's launch in July.
Following on-loan forward Marc Guiu (£4.4m) being recalled by Chelsea from Sunderland and Alexander Isak (£10.4m) joining Liverpool from Newcastle United, many Fantasy managers may now own FOUR players from one club.
Are you one of those managers?
If you are, your next transfer out HAS to be a Chelsea or Liverpool player, as you CANNOT own four players from the same club.
So, for example, if you now own four Chelsea players including Guiu, who began the campaign at Sunderland, you will have to sell one of them when you make your next transfer.
The same logic applies regarding owning four Liverpool players including Isak.
If you choose to do so, you will be able to keep four Chelsea (including Guiu) or four Liverpool players (including Isak) for the rest of the season, but you WILL NOT be able to make another transfer.
Switch to a 3-4-3 formation?
Guiu, owned by 14 per cent of managers, is the seventh most-popular forward in Fantasy, due primarily to his budget-friendly price tag and the prospect of first-team minutes after joining Sunderland on loan from Chelsea earlier this summer.
Many managers had picked him in their squads to free up funds and allow them to play a 3-5-2 formation, ploughing their funds into midfield.
They will now be forced to reassess their strategy following Guiu’s return to Stamford Bridge. The Spaniard has been recalled after forward Liam Delap (£6.4m) was forced off with an injury in the Blues’ 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.
Those managers could now move to a 3-4-3 formation and pick Fulham’s Josh King (£4.5m) as their fifth midfielder. He is the only midfielder or forward priced under £5.0m to start all three of the opening Gameweeks of 2025/26.
