A huge shock was caused in the second round of the EFL Cup as Manchester United were knocked out by League Two side Grimsby Town on penalties.
Man Utd rallied from 2-0 down to force the game to a shootout thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo, his first for the club since arriving from Brentford this summer, and Harry Maguire late on.
But in the shootout, Mbeumo missed the final spot-kick as United went out 12-11 on penalties.
Elsewhere on Wednesday, Premier League sides Fulham, Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion, who put six past Championship club Oxford United, booked their places in round three.
They will join Brentford, Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers, after their victories on Tuesday night.
The teams playing in Europe this season - Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace - join the competition in round three.
