The Scout’s FPL Gameweek 3 transfer radar

See four players backed by The Scout to score big in this weekend's matches

The Scout is tipping four players for big success in Gameweek 3 of 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League ahead of Saturday's 11:00 BST deadline to help managers gain an edge over their mini-league rivals.

Matheus Cunha (Manchester United) £8.1m

Cunha is yet to deliver a goal or assist since his summer move to Manchester United but the signs are encouraging that an attacking return is imminent.

The Brazilian's total of seven shots in the first two Gameweeks has been beaten by just two other Premier League players.

Meanwhile, his tally of four efforts on target is the best in the division.

Only a superb Bernd Leno (£5.0m) save denied him from opening his United account in Gameweek 2.

Cunha's opponents this weekend are Burnley, one of three clubs that came up from the Championship in 2024/25.

The Brazil international enjoys facing promoted opposition: he racked up seven attacking in four meetings with those teams last season, averaging a whopping 11.3 points per match in the process.

Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest) £7.5m

Gibbs-White has fond memories of facing this weekend's opponents.

He scored in his most recent encounter with West Ham United back in May, emerging from that match with an 11-point haul to his name.

The midfielder has started this season strongly, too.

His total of four chances created is twice as many as any other player in Nuno Espirito Santo's squad, while none of his team-mates can better his total of four goal attempts, either.

Meanwhile, the Hammers are struggling at the foot of the table, having conceded more goals - eight - than any other team this season.

The favourable fixtures don't end this weekend for Gibbs-White, either. Nottingham Forest face promoted Burnley and Sunderland in Gameweeks 5 and 6, meaning three of their next four matches score two in the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR).

Forest's next four fixtures

3 West Ham (H) 2
4 Arsenal (A) 4
5 Burnley (A) 2
6 Sunderland (H) 2

Dan Burn (Newcastle United) £5.0m

Newcastle United's towering centre-back has benefitted from the new FPL points on offer in 2025/26 in the opening two Gameweeks.

Burn is one of just seven Premier League defenders who have delivered defensive contribution points in both of their matches so far.

See: What are defensive contribution points

It's a continuation of the form he showed last season, when he would have registered 22 defensive contribution points for the Magpies. That was 10 more than any other Newcastle defender.

His tally of 23 shots in the box was also superior to that of his team-mates in Eddie Howe's backline.

So Leeds United's concession of two set-piece goals in Gameweek 2 is something to consider regarding Burn's Fantasy appeal.

Newcastle's next three fixtures all score three or lower in the FDR, suggesting clean sheets could also be in the offing.

Richarlison (Tottenham Hotspur) £6.7m

The Brazil international has had more shots than any other FPL forward this season.

All eight of his efforts have come from inside the opposition box, too, so he's getting good quality opportunities up front for Tottenham Hotspur.

Richarlison has yet to blank in 2025/26, following up his opening-weekend brace with an assist in the win at Manchester City in Gameweek 2.

The forward could have had a goal himself against Man City, having been presented with three headed chances. The fact that Thomas Frank's new-look Spurs outfit created plenty of opportunities against Pep Guardiola's side suggests that they will get plenty of attacking joy regardless of fixture difficulty.

As it happens, though, Spurs' next nine matches all score three or lower in the FDR.

Spurs' next nine matches
GW Opp. FDR*
3 Bournemouth (H) 3
4 West Ham (A) 2
5 Brighton (A) 3
6 Wolves (H) 2
7 Leeds (A) 2
8 Aston Villa (H) 3
9 Everton (A) 3
10 Chelsea (H) 3
11 Man Utd (H) 3

*1=Easiest possible fixture, 5=Hardest possible fixture

Frank said before last Saturday's victory that Richarlison is currently his "starting nine", so there seems to be little threat from Dominic Solanke (£7.3m) at present.
