Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Joao Palhinha has been voted the Premier League Player of the Matchweek for Matchweek 2.
Palhinha, a summer loan signing from Bayern Munich, was shortlisted for our fan poll after starring in Spurs' impressive 2-0 win at Manchester City. The Portuguese powerhouse won more duels and made more tackles than any of his team-mates, and scored his side's second goal just before half-time.

Spurs players have topped both of our weekly fan polls so far this season, following Richarlison's success in Matchweek 1.
Their recognition reflects the club's positive start to 2025/26 - along with Arsenal and Liverpool, Thomas Frank's side are one of only three teams who have maximum points after two matches.
Palhinha picked up 33 per cent of the vote in Matchweek 2, while his closest challenger - Liverpool's 16-year-old matchwinner Rio Ngumoha - received 22 per cent.
The other six nominees were Jurrien Timber (17 per cent), Joao Pedro (12 per cent), Viktor Gyokeres (eight per cent), Jack Grealish (six per cent), plus Jaidon Anthony and Dango Ouattara (one per cent).
