Matchweek 2 of the 2025/26 Premier League season was packed with incredible performances. But which player produced the single best individual display?

Jaidon Anthony (Burnley 2-0 Sunderland)
Winger Anthony delivered an excellent performance with a goal and an assist, helping Burnley claim their first Premier League win of the season.
He set up the opener with a terrific backheel flick for Josh Cullen to curl in before Cullen returned the favour, playing in Anthony, who rounded Robin Roefs to score.
It was only the fourth time that two Burnley players have scored and assisted in a single Premier League game, and the first since Ashley Westwood and Chris Wood did so versus AFC Bournemouth in April 2019.

Jack Grealish (Everton 2-0 Brighton)
The Man City loanee raised the roof of Hill Dickinson Stadium on his full debut for Everton with a vintage performance, including two wonderful assists. The first was a fizzed cross to Iliman Ndiaye, who finished at the back post, before teeing up James Garner, who rifled a shot into the bottom corner.

Viktor Gyokeres (Arsenal 5-0 Leeds)
Gyokeres opened his Premier League account against Leeds United with a sensational solo effort, darting in behind the Leeds defence and beating two defenders before slotting past Lucas Perri. The Swede then unleashed his iconic celebration in front of the joyous home crowd.
He then scored his second goal in stoppage time, converting a penalty won by 15-year-old Max Dowman for his first Premier League double.

Rio Ngumoha (Newcastle 2-3 Liverpool)
The 16-year-old produced an unforgettable Premier League debut, coming off the bench to score the winner against Newcastle United.
In doing so, he became the youngest goalscorer in the club's 133-year history, at the age of only 16 years and 361 days.
His goal made him the fourth-youngest scorer in the competition's history, behind only James Vaughan, James Milner and Wayne Rooney.

Dango Ouattara (Brentford 1-0 Aston Villa)
Brentford's club-record signing got off the mark against Aston Villa in what was an inspired debut performance. Ouattara opened the scoring after racing away from Villa's defence before finishing at the second attempt after his first shot was parried by Emiliano Martinez.
The Burkina Faso international's goal secured the first win of the Keith Andrews era in west London.

Joao Palhinha (Man City 0-2 Spurs)
A colossal midfield performance from Joao Palhinha ensured Spurs made it two wins from two under Thomas Frank, with a statement victory at Manchester City. The midfielder won eight duels and made more four tackles, both more than any other Spurs player.
Most importantly, on his full debut, he smashed in the goal which doubled Spurs' lead, part of a dominant midfield display.

Joao Pedro (West Ham 1-5 Chelsea)
The Brazilian stood tall after Cole Palmer missed the game due to injury, crucially netting the equaliser and setting up the goal to make it 2-1 to the Blues.
Chelsea's summer signing scored his first Premier League goal for the club, guiding Marc Cucurella's flick-on from a corner past Mads Hermansen, before becoming provider with a pinpoint cross to Pedro Neto, who volleyed home.
Joao Pedro ended the night with another assist, instinctively heading down the ball for Trevoh Chalobah to score Chelsea's fifth.

Jurrien Timber (Arsenal 5-0 Leeds)
Timber was phenomenal against Leeds, making an impact at both ends of the pitch. He left Emirates Stadium with two goals, an assist and a clean sheet. The Dutchman opened the scoring with a wonderful header and then he played in Bukayo Saka to make it 2-0, before scoring his second goal from another corner.
In doing so, Timber became only the second Arsenal defender to register three goal involvements in a Premier League match, with Nacho Monreal the other, while he is the first defender to both score and assist in the same Premier League match for the Gunners since Cedric Soares against Everton in May 2022.
