The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts explain who they think is the best captaincy option and who they are set to back with the armband ahead of the Gameweek 2 deadline on Friday at 18:30 BST.
Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
If I owned Bukayo Saka (£10.0m), I would be tempted to had him the armband this week, although I was impressed by Leeds United's performance in Gameweek 1.
I'll be choosing between Cole Palmer (£10.5m) and Ollie Watkins (£9.0m). While both blanked in Gameweek 1, they have decent fixtures against West Ham and Brentford respectively.
Utkarsh Dalmia (@ZopharFPL)
With the news that Kai Havertz (£7.5m) might have a serious injury, Viktor Gyokeres' (£9.0m) expected minutes go up significantly.
The Swede is the standout captaincy pick against Leeds at Emirates Stadium. Erling Haaland (£14.0m) is the next best option, with Man City looking like a real force again with their new recruits.
Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)
I will be captaining Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) in the hope that Newcastle v Liverpool will be the high-scoring, end-to end-match that we have seen so many times between these two teams in years gone by.
Newcastle always have a go at St James’ Park and I expect them to score, while Liverpool won’t be shot-shy after they registered 10 shots on target in Gameweek 1.
Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
Despite a languid display by Aston Villa in Gameweek 1, I'm backing them to come good in Gameweek 2 against a Brentford side that looked even more out of sorts.
Watkins will be my captain. If I had Saka or Gyokeres from Arsenal, I'd be very tempted, particularly with the news that Havertz might be sidelined with a knee injury; making the Swede presumably more assured for minutes.
Pranil Sheth (@lateriser12)
While Chelsea's performance wasn't encouraging in Gameweek 1, I am still tempted to captain Palmer due to his high-ceiling and how poor West Ham were against Sunderland.
I am debating him versus Salah, as the match between Newcastle and Liverpool could be a heated, end-to-end encounter on Monday night.
Nick Harris (@WGTA_Nick)
I'm using my Free Hit chip this week and am backing Saka. He's yet to find his feet this season, but Leeds at home feels like a great fixture for him to get off the mark.
Holly Shand (@HollyShand)
I'm half tempted by Watkins, given he has six goals in seven Premier League appearances against them. However, I'll probably play it safe with Salah against Newcastle.
The Egyptian produced 18 points at St James' Park last season.
FPL Harry (@FPL_Harry)
For me, an Arsenal player at home to Leeds is definitely the best captaincy option in Gameweek 2.
As such, I would opt for the ever reliable Saka. However, I do not own him and currently prefer going Salah over Palmer based on what I saw in Gameweek 1.
Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)
I think Haaland is probably the best option this week, but as a non-owner, I'll have to back Saka for a much improved performance against Leeds.
