The Premier League says goodbye to one of its best players in recent history.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said: “Sonny is one of the greatest players to ever wear the famous Lilywhite shirt and he has been a joy to watch over the past decade. Not only is he a wonderfully gifted footballer, but he’s also an incredible human being who has touched hearts and inspired people throughout the Club and all over the world.
“The Europa League triumph in Bilbao was a truly magical moment in the Club’s history and Sonny lifting the trophy is a perfect lasting memory from his fantastic decade at Tottenham Hotspur.
“Sonny has given so much to this Club, both on and off the pitch, and for that we are forever grateful. We wish him all the best for the future, and he will always be welcome back at the Club as a beloved and cherished member of our Spurs family.”

Son’s Premier League legacy
Son departs the Premier League with 127 goals, making him the 16th highest goalscorer in the competition’s history. He is also the only Asian player in the Premier League’s 100 Club.
Alongside his incredible goalscoring ability, Son registered 71 assists, ranking him 17th in the competition's history.
He is one of only seven players to sit in both separate top 20 lists for all-time goals and assists, along with undisputed legends such as Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard, Andrew Cole, Teddy Sheringham, and Mohamed Salah.
He won the 2021/22 Golden Boot alongside Salah, finishing as that season’s joint-top scorer, with 23 goals, while he also claimed the 2020/21 Premier League Goal of the Season award.
