Everton sign midfielder Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea

The 26-year-old has signed a five-year deal and is the Toffees' fifth addition of the summer

Everton have completed the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea.

The 26-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract and becomes the club’s fifth signing of the window, following Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry, Mark Travers and Adam Aznou.

"For me to leave my old club, it would have had to have been for something special, a project that I really believed in," Dewsbury-Hall said in his first Everton interview.

"After speaking to the manager [David Moyes] and seeing the ambitions with the new stadium and everything, it felt like the right club, it felt like the right fit for me for the next step.

"[Moyes] said he's been admiring me for a while; he loves the way I play and just explained to me what he sees me doing in my role in this team. That's what you want to hear as a player."

Dewsbury-Hall's career so far

Born on 6 September 1998 in Shepshed, England, Dewsbury-Hall started his career with Leicester City, at the age of eight.

After proving himself for Leicester’s Under-18 and Premier League 2 sides, he made his debut against Brentford in the FA Cup in January 2020.

Following loan spells with Blackpool and Luton Town, Dewsbury-Hall returned to Leicester in 2021/22, coming on as a substitute in the Foxes’ FA Community shield win over Manchester City.

He eventually cemented his place in the Leicester's starting XI, playing regularly in the Premier League and Europa League that season.

Leicester had been relegated from the Premier League in the 2022/23 season, but under the guidance of Enzo Maresca they gained promotion.

At the heart of their success was Dewsbury-Hall, who scored 12 times and registered 14 assists in 44 Championship matches.

In 2024/25 Dewsbury-Hall joined Chelsea alongside Maresca in what became a triumphant season for the Blues.

At Stamford Bridge, he helped the Chelsea secure UEFA Champions League qualification and lifted the UEFA Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup.

When could Dewsbury-Hall make his debut for Everton?

Everton take on AS Roma on 9 August in their final pre-season friendly, before they return to Premier League action away to Leeds United on 18 August.
