Son Heung-min: His most wholesome moments

We take a look at the South Korean's most genuine and humble acts on and off the field as he leaves the club

Son Heung-min departs Tottenham Hotspur and the Premier League after 10 years and leaves behind more than just an on-field legacy.

His career has been marked not only by goals and recent European triumph, but by countless moments of humility and kindness.

Son has built a reputation as one of the most likeable and admired figures in football, respected by team-mates and adored by his fans.

Here are some of his most wholesome moments.

Heartwarming moment Son surprises a Spurs fan

Son surprised a lifelong Spurs fan after receiving an emotional letter from his twin daughters, sharing their story of their dad’s battle with long-term cancer.

Son's polite mic drop

Following a post-match interview with TNT Sports, Son gently placed his microphone back on the table. Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand remarked, "what a guy!"

Sheltering a mascot from the rain

Even the weather is no match for Son's kindness. As the rain poured down ahead of kick off, the Spurs star used his hands to shield his young mascot as best he could.

Having a laugh

During an end-of-season lap of honour, Son joked and laughed with his team-mates’ children.

A wave to make a young fan's day

During his warm up, Son made sure to spot an excited young fan and share a wave. This small gesture clearly meant the world to the little girl.

And after the video went viral, the two would reunite.

Offering his jacket to a cold mascot

While walking out on to the pitch for an FA Cup match, Son noticed the young mascot alongside him shivering. Without hesitation, he removed his jacket and put it on her to keep her warm.

And while on international duty with South Korea, Son repeated the gesture.

Welcoming Spurs to Seoul

When Spurs arrived in Seoul for their pre-season tour, Son himself was there to greet them, waiting at the airport with a hand-held sign.
