Wolves sign Norwegian David Moller Wolfe from AZ Alkmaar

The 6ft 1in left wing-back has agreed to a five-year deal and becomes club's third summer signing

Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed David Moller Wolfe from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar, with the Norwegian agreeing to a five-year contract.

The 6ft 1in left wing-back is Wolves' third summer signing, after Fer Lopez and Jhon Arias, and will link up with fellow Norwegian team-mate, Jorgen Strand Larsen.

“I’m an extremely hard-working player that can run up and down the left side for 90 minutes straight. I give a lot of energy to the team, and I always do my best to help the team,” Wolfe said in his first Wolves interview.

“I’m very confident. I think I have the qualities to play in the Premier League and to deliver and to perform. Also here, I will play as a wing-back, so that means I can have even more freedom to go on offensive runs, so I can’t wait.”

Wolfe's career so far

Born in Bergen, Norway on 23 April 2002, Wolfe started his career with Norwegian sides Bergen Nord, Braan and Asane before moving to the Netherlands with AZ Alkmaar in July 2023.

In two seasons at the club, Wolfe played 92 times in all competitions and helped the club finish fifth last season, which secured them a place in this season's UEFA Conference League.

On the international stage, Wolfe has played 12 times for Norway and scored once.

Four of those appearances have come in qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup where Norway have won all of their matches so far, including an impressive 3-0 win against four-time winners Italy in June.

When could Wolfe make his Wolves debut?

Wolfe, who has a tattoo of a wolf on his arm, could feature for Wolves on 3 August against LaLiga outfit Girona.

Wolves begin their Premier League campaign at home to Manchester City on 16 August.
