The Scout assesses Arsenal's new forward as his price is revealed in Fantasy Premier League.
Viktor Gyokeres (£9.0m) has the goalscoring pedigree to challenge Bukayo Saka (£10.0m) as the go-to Arsenal attacker for 2025/26 Fantasy.
The Sweden international arrives from Sporting Lisbon to London on the back of an extraordinary two seasons in the Portuguese top flight, producing 68 goals and 16 assists in 66 Liga matches.
In all competitions during his successful stay at Sporting, he registered 97 goals and 27 assists in 104 contests.

A further breakdown of those statistics helps to highlight Gyokeres’ prolific penalty record.
Indeed, of the 54 goals he scored in all competitions for Sporting last season, a massive 19 of them were converted spot-kicks.
Although he was far less reliant on penalties in his debut campaign in Portugal, spot-kicks ultimately attested for 27 of all his 97 goals for Sporting overall, a hefty 28 per cent.
Gyokeres' record at Sporting
Season | Goals | Penalty goals | % goals from penalties |
2023/24 | 43 | 8 | 19% |
2024/25 | 54 | 19 | 35% |
Total | 97 | 27 | 28% |
Gyokeres has converted 34 of the 38 penalties he has taken over the course of his career, a record which suggests he will immediately challenge Saka and Martin Odegaard (£8.0m) for the role as Arsenal’s new spot-kick taker.
When asked on this, manager Mikel Arteta said: "I'm sure that he will step in if they allow him to do so."
"Because as you say he's been very consistent and he's scored many goals, but we have some other penalty takers, really good ones as well."
"So they will resolve it themselves and if not I will intervene in the right moment!"
There’s no doubt that if Gyokeres is handed penalties ahead of Saka, the £1.0m price difference between the pair could ultimately prove decisive in how managers in Fantasy view Arsenal’s attack.
Right now, though, Saka’s numbers from last season indicate he remains their best pick. He averaged 5.8 points per start, just behind the 5.9 of Cole Palmer (£10.5m), who finished as the third top-scoring in 2024/25 on 214 points.
Despite being restricted to just 25 appearances, Saka’s all-round potential for points remained peerless. His 53 shots in the box and 21 big chances created – situations where the player is expected to score – both ranked FIRST among team-mates.
Arsenal tough start to the new season does go against them, though. Indeed, according to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), their average score of 3.5 is the WORST of any side in the opening six Gameweeks.
That suggests it may be best to afford Arteta’s key attackers patience, giving us time to assess the impact of Gyokeres, before investing in a very favourable schedule from Gameweek 7 onwards.
