REVEALED: Salah and Haaland's prices for 2025/26 Fantasy

Liverpool star handed record cost for a midfielder while Man City forward drops £1.0m

Mohamed Salah (£14.5m) and Erling Haaland (£14.0m) will be the two most expensive players in 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League.

Liverpool’s Salah is handed the highest-ever opening cost for a midfielder in Fantasy - bettering the £14.0m of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008/09 – after he smashed the record for the most points in a season last time around.

The Egyptian finished on 344 points, more than 100 ahead of his nearest challenger Bryan Mbeumo, who claimed his own career-high 234 points.

Salah delivered a massive 18 double-figure returns in his first season under Arne Slot last season – that was TWICE as many as any other player in Fantasy and underlines his outstanding consistency as a captain.

Price drop for Haaland

Manchester City’s Haaland, meanwhile, drops from his 2024/25 record-breaking price of £15.0m after a somewhat lukewarm campaign.

The Norwegian scored 22 goals and supplied three assists to take fifth place among forwards on 181 points.

Despite that relatively poor season, Haaland’s underlying numbers also help to show his huge goal threat.

His 98 shots in the box and 40 big chances – or situations where the player is expected to score – both placed top among forwards and were second only to Salah in Fantasy.

Salah and Haaland’s price reveals follow on from Sunday, when the former’s new team-mate Florian Wirtz was confirmed at £8.5m – a hefty £6.0m cheaper than Salah for the German’s debut season with Liverpool.

Wirtz combined 10 goals with 12 assists in the Bundesliga last season, adding a further six goals and an assist in the UEFA Champions League.

The £10.5m price tag handed out to Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak yesterday could also prove particularly significant this season.

Isak smashed his own personal best to claim first place among forwards on 211 points last time out.

Although the Swede has been linked with a move to Liverpool, the Reds are now reportedly set to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, while Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe is confident that Isak will remain at the club for 2025/26.

Isak looks set to challenge Haaland once again as the best forward to own in Fantasy, while the £3.5m price difference between the pair could prove significant for those managers who are set on owning Salah.
