Villa travel to Germany for second pre-season outing
Fixtures Hansa Rostock Vs. Aston Villa - Sat, Jul 19th 2025, 15:00 Aston Villa contest their second fixture of pre-season on Saturday, travelling to Germany to take on Hansa Rostock (ko 3pm GMT). The clash at Osteestadion is being held as part of the hosts' 60th anniversary celebrations, and will see Unai Emery's men take on the 3. Liga outfit before crossing the pond next week for a pre-season tour of the USA. Villa opened up their summer fixtures campaign in midweek, making the short trip across the midlands to take on Walsall, where a youthful side fell to a 1-0 defeat. As they did on Wednesday, the Villans will again wear their 2025/26 away kit in Germany, before the all-new home strip makes its debut in America. Villa supporters will be housed in blocks 19-20, located in the south-east corner of the stadium. Memberships and Match Passes Purchase Now The opponents Based in the largest city of northern Germany's Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state, FC Hansa Rostock currently ply their trade in the third tier of the German pyramid - 3. Liga - and are managed by former Augsburg midfielder Daniel Brinkmann. Last season saw them finish fifth in the league with a points tally of 60 from 38 outings, missing out on qualification for the promotion play-offs by just five points. Founded in 1965, this game is set to form a part of Hansa's 60th anniversary celebrations. The venue A 29,000 capacity venue, Osteestadion is home to Hansa Rostock having first opened in 1954, undergone an expansion in 1991, and been newly rebuilt in 2001. 'Ostseestadion' translates in English to 'Baltic Sea Stadium', and is named after the Baltic Sea, whose coast Rostock lies upon. The venue has hosted no less than 10 international fixtures, with the most recent coming in 2002 and 2006, when Germany took on USA and Georgia respectively.
