The arrival of Noni Madueke (£7.0m) increases Arsenal’s attacking depth in 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League.

The England international managed seven goals and five assists in 32 league appearances while playing for Chelsea last season.

At first glance, that output might not seem too impressive.

However, the underlying numbers highlight the goal threat that Madueke will bring to Arsenal’s attack.

His totals of 31.1 minutes per shot in the box and 10.3 minutes per penalty box touch both placed first among Chelsea players in 2024/25.

They also rank favourably when compared to Arsenal’s current wingers.

Madueke's stats v Arsenal wingers, 24/25
Player Mins/shot Mins/shot in the box Mins/penalty box touch
Saka 26.0 32.8 9.6
Trossard 34.8 49.1 15.2
Nwaneri 38.2 65.4 18.0
Martinelli 41.5 45.6 11.6
Madueke 25.6 31.1 10.3

Statistically, Madueke’s shots in 2024/25 accumulated a total of 9.64 Expected Goals (xG).

The fact he netted 2.64 fewer goals than "expected" raises a potential concern. However, it is important to note that last season marked the first time in his career that he fell short of his xG.

In terms of profile, Madueke is a direct dribbler who thrives in 1v1 situations.

While primarily suited to a right-wing position, he is also capable of playing off the left, which could prove crucial in Fantasy.

This is due to the fact that in Bukayo Saka (£10.0m), Arsenal already have one of the world’s best wingers, occupying the right flank.

It would appear that Madueke can provide cover for Saka, then, while also vying with Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard (both £7.0m) for a starting position on the left.

Initially, at least, it could be that Madueke’s versatility is likely to earn him minutes off the bench, giving Fantasy managers time to assess Mikel Arteta’s line-ups.

Arsenal’s tough opening schedule in 2025/26 further dents the appeal of investing in Madueke early on.

Across Gameweeks 1-6, the Gunners have a Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR) average of 3.5.
