West Ham United have completed the transfer of left-back El Hadji Malick Diouf from Czech Republic side Slavia Prague.
He becomes West Ham’s third signing of the summer, after Jean-Clair Todibo and Daniel Cummings, as the club reshapes its defence following the departures of Aaron Cresswell and Vladimir Coufal.
Diouf will wear the No 12 shirt for West Ham.
“There were a lot of teams [who wanted to sign me], but I chose West Ham United first and I spoke with the coach [Graham Potter] and it was a good plan for me,” Diouf said in his first interview with the club.
Diouf’s career so far
Born in Ziguinchor, Senegal on 28 December 2004, Diouf’s career began with Academy Mawade Wade before moving to Norwegian side Tromso and then Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic in January 2024.

In 2024/25 Diouf claimed a starting role and played in Slavia's UEFA Champions League qualification rounds and all eight of their Europa League group stage matches.
Overall, he featured 41 times in all competitions at left-back and left midfield last season, netting seven times and setting up four goals as he helped Slavia win the Czech first division for the first time since 2021.
For Senegal he has been capped four times, most recently against England in a 3-1 win, where Diouf kept both Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke quiet.
When could Diouf make his West Ham debut?
Diouf could feature for the Hammers as early as 19 July when West Ham take on Grasshoppers.
West Ham are also in action in the Premier League's Summer Series in the United States where they will face AFC Bournemouth, Everton and Manchester United.
West Ham begin their 2025/26 campaign away to newly promoted Sunderland on 16 August.
