An important win for Maritz at WEURO 2025

Noelle Maritz showcased a resolute performance in defence for Switzerland this evening as she helped her nation to a huge 2-0 victory over Iceland in a UEFA Women's Euro 2025 group stage clash. Maritz started the must-win game for Switzerland as the side went into the fixture knowing a victory would help them on their quest to progress out of the group stage after suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat to Norway in their opening game. Second-half goals from Géraldine Reuteler and Alayah Pilgrim saw the host nation onto victory as Maritz helped her side earn a well-fought clean sheet at the back. The win lifted Switzerland into second place in Group A and they face Finland next up on Thursday 10th July, 8pm kick-off, knowing that a win or a draw will see them book their place in the quarter-finals.
