Jesus' trophy laden journey to the City Ground

Look at our new forward’s career to date Brazil international joined Forest from Botafogo 24-year-old has enjoyed success in Brazil and the UAE The latest addition to Nottingham Forest’s forward line, Igor Jesus, arrives on Trentside with an array of accolades behind him across South America and the United Arab Emirates. Jesus started his career in his native Brazil with Coritiba where seven goal contributions attracted interest from abroad and a move to UAE Pro League side Shabab Al Ahli in 2020. Across four seasons in the UAE, Jesus collected five winners’ medals spanning four different competitions, first winning the UAE Super Cup in his maiden year with the club. Jesus’ first full campaign in the middle east brought further success with Shabab Al Ahli winning the League and President’s Cups respectively. The trophies kept coming for the Brazil international with the UAE Pro League being secured in 2022/23 before a second Super Cup medal was won in 2023, before Jesus departed for Botafogo in July 2024. His return to South America heralded his international debut for Brazil in October 2024 as Jesus netted against Chile on debut, before assisting against Peru just five days later in 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The 24-year-old’s medal haul only grew during his spell with Fogo, winning the Brazilian Série A and Cope Libertadores double in 2024. Prior to his move to NG2, Jesus headed to North America for the FIFA Club World Cup with Botafogo, where the forward made an immediate impact on the world stage. After netting the second, and ultimately crucial goal in a 2-1 win against Seattle Sounders, Jesus cleverly scored the only goal of the game against recent UEFA Champions League winners Paris Saint Germain. The Brazil international lined up for Fogo in their final two matches of the competition against Atletico Madrid and Palmeiras as the Brazilian outfit exited the competition. Now, Jesus arrives at the City Ground with the Reds set to compete in the UEFA Conference League as well as our fourth successive Premier League campaign.
