Six-time Premier League champion joins the Clarets on a two-year deal

Burnley have completed the signing of Kyle Walker from Manchester City on a two-year contract.

The six-time Premier League champion will link up with Burnley head coach Scott Parker, who he played with during his time at Tottenham Hotspur.

"When I spoke to Scott and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at," Walker said on Burnley's official website.

"He's done an amazing job here, guiding the club back to the Premier League with a 100-point haul, and now we're looking forward, together, to being back in the greatest league in the world."

Walker's career so far

After beginning his career at boyhood club Sheffield United, Walker signed for Spurs in the summer of 2009.

He spent time on loan with Sheff Utd, Queens Park Rangers and Aston Villa, before cementing his place in the Spurs team and establishing himself as one of the best right-backs in the league.

Walker then moved to Man City in 2017 and became a key player in an unprecedented era of success, helping the club to win 15 major honours.

This included winning the Treble - the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup - in an incredible 2023/24 season.

Walker has also been capped 96 times by England and was a member of the squads that reached the semi-final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and two European Championship finals in 2021 and 2024.

The 35-year-old spent the final four months of last season on loan to Italian giants AC Milan in January. He has now joined Burnley, his fourth permanent club, ahead of their return to the Premier League.

When could Walker feature for Burnley?

Walker could make his first appearance for Burnley on 26 July in the club's opening pre-season match against Huddersfield Town.

The Clarets begin their 2025/26 Premier League season away to Walker's former club Spurs on Saturday 16 August.
