Key facts

Brighton are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League home matches, winning three and drawing four, since a 3-1 loss to West Ham United in August. Indeed, three of the Seagulls’ last four home league defeats have come against London sides (Arsenal, Fulham, West Ham).

Brighton have scored in each of their last 17 Premier League home matches since a 1-0 loss against Fulham in February. However, they’ve also conceded in each of their last 12 at the Amex Stadium since beating Manchester United 1-0 in May.

Spurs did the league double over Brighton last season – it’s the fifth time they’ve won consecutive league matches against the Seagulls, but have never won three in a row before.

Son Heung-min has been involved in eight goals in his last seven Premier League away matches, scoring seven and assisting one. His seven away league goals are more than double any other Spurs player this season, accounting for 35 per cent of their total scored on the road in 2023/24 with seven from 20.

What the managers have said

Roberto De Zerbi: "The most important thing has been the mentality of the team. When there are many [injury] problems you have to work better and harder.

"I have to think about different ways on the pitch and find the balance without and with the ball, which I like [to do] as a coach. I can’t change my DNA but without eight players you have to find different solutions to keep our style and our idea as much as possible. We have to transform problems into opportunities.”

“I would like to play with the complete squad. But Tottenham have played a lot of games without 7-8 players and [Ange] Postecoglou never cries, we have to accept and I think we can compete in the same way." More

Ange Postecoglou: "We've been going through it [injury crisis] for quite a while to be fair, but I really like the attitude everyone's taking internally - the coaches and players.

"We've still been disappointed with our losses, still been disappointed if we're not playing our football, that's the most important thing.

"I'm sure there will come a point when we will be much healthier in terms of our playing stocks, but I like the fact we're winning games and playing decent football without some of those players." More

Key facts

Arsenal have won 12 of their last 13 Premier League home matches against West Ham, with the exception being a 2-0 loss on the opening weekend of the 2015/16 campaign.

The Gunners are unbeaten in their last 12 home London derbies in the Premier League, winning eight and drawing four, since a 2-0 loss to Chelsea in August 2021. They’ve kept just one clean sheet in this run (2-0 v West Ham in December 2021), with both such matches this season finishing 2-2.

West Ham have won four of their nine Premier League away matches this season, already more than they won on the road in the whole of 2022/23 where they won three. However, the Hammers are without a clean sheet in their last 13 on the road in the league, shipping 31 goals in the process.

Jarrod Bowen has scored seven away goals for West Ham in the Premier League this season, with Mike Small in 1991/92 with nine the last player to score more on the road in a top-flight campaign for the Hammers.

What the managers have said

Mikel Arteta: "Very difficult. They are a really good side, really well coached. It’s incredible the success that they had last year. They are again this season showing a lot of consistency. They beat Spurs and Manchester United and that tells you everything about the difficulty of the game and we’re going to have to be really good.

"They open the spaces and combine really well in certain areas and it’s very tricky to control them. The areas where you give the ball away are critical. We will try to nullify the strengths that they have tomorrow and play to our strengths." More

David Moyes: "I’ve been very impressed with Mikel Arteta since he first went into Arsenal. I believe he won the FA Cup and the Community Shield early on, and then obviously it went a little difficult and there was some talk, but he hasn’t half proved all the doubters wrong.

"We can expect huge challenges on Thursday. Arsenal have always been a really hard team to beat. We had a good result against them in the Carabao Cup at London Stadium but the Premier League is a different competition and it brings out different players." More
