Hall of Fame 2025 nominee: Michael Owen

See the striker's best goals and achievements as we go through the 15 players up for the vote

We are looking at the 15 nominees who have been shortlisted for the Premier League Hall of Fame in 2025.

Fans around the world are invited to select two of the 15 contenders via the Premier League app or at premierleague.com/halloffame, with the public vote closing at 12:00 BST on Monday 15 September.

The results of the fan poll will be presented to the existing 24 Premier League Hall of Fame members – including Sir Alex Ferguson, Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer – who will then cast their votes to decide who is inducted in 2025.

Michael Owen

Owen stood out from the off. The goal on his debut for Liverpool at the age of 17 became a trademark finish, beating the Wimbledon defence for speed before a clinical strike.

This lightning pace and deadly eye for goal helped Owen finish as top scorer for the Merseyside club in every season between 1997/98 and 2003/04, claiming the Golden Boot twice.

A spell at Manchester United, in which he scored a last-gasp winner in a 4-3 derby triumph over Manchester City in his debut campaign, earned him his first Premier League title.

Owen, who also played for Newcastle United and Stoke City, remains one of only 11 players with 150 or more Premier League goals.
