Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel reckons the race for fourth place will continue to the end.
The American kept direct challengers Tottenham Hotspur at bay on Saturday as the midlands club secured a 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane.
Liverpool are the current occupants of fourth place, but Tottenham, Manchester City and Villa are all breathing down their necks. Three points separate the four clubs and Friedel said: "I can't remember it being this tight for the Champions League places.
"It used to be the top two going away then the next two on their own. It'll be different this time.
"I would think it will go to the end, looking at the results this season. Clubs are dropping points and it's going to make it exciting."
very good
Friedel was chiefly responsible for the Tottenham stalemate, denying Ledley King, Peter Crouch and Tom Huddlestone with his best saves.
"They are a very good team going forward, we saw that from the videos we watched before the game and playing against them down the years," the American said.
"Harry (Redknapp) has got them going, especially at home with their waves of attacks. Maybe they had the better of the chances and will be disappointed but we were strong."
