Goalkeeper Jose Reina says Liverpool must pull together to finish the season on a high.
Liverpool are currently in fifth place and 13 points behind Barclays Premier League leaders Chelsea, having already suffered early exits from the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.
But a run of six matches unbeaten has pushed the Reds to within a point of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur as they bid for Champions League qualification next term.
getting better
Reina admits the players have felt the pain of Liverpool's inconsistent campaign and the Spain international has vowed to work hard to turn around the club's fortunes.
"It is about pride. We knew we were not in the right situation," said Reina.
"This club is bigger than that and we had to think about the fact we were not doing as well as we could. Hopefully we will start getting better.
"At least we are gaining confidence from this run and that is why the result is all-important. That has to be the message.
"There will be more tough moments but our pride is at stake and, if we stick together, we can come through it."
