Burnley have signed Celtic left-back Danny Fox for an undisclosed fee.
Clarets manager Brian Laws continued a successful week in the transfer market by adding Fox to his earlier signings of Leon Cort and Nicky Weaver.
The former England under-21 international has agreed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Turf Moor.
Fox, 23, joined Celtic last summer and started 22 matches for the Scottish giants.
But after being told he would be allowed to return to England, the former Coventry City and Walsall defender elected to move to Turf Moor.
international clearance
Fox, who started his career as a youngster at Everton, played over 100 matches for Walsall before starting 62 times in an 18-month spell with the Sky Blues.
Fox, who qualifies to play for Scotland and was called up to their senior squad for a friendly earlier this season, will not be involved in Saturday's match against Chelsea at Turf Moor.
The deal is subject to international clearance.
Meanwhile Laws is set to allow Brian Easton to rejoin Hamilton Academical on loan for the rest of the season as he continues to re-shuffle his squad.
Easton was signed from the Scottish Premier League side last summer by former Clarets' manager Owen Coyle.
good future
But the Scotland under-21 international has been limited to just one appearance this season in the Carling Cup.
And with Laws having recruited a further left-back in the shape of Danny Fox, he has sanctioned a move back to New Douglas Park for Easton, 21, who previously started over 100 matches for the Accies.
"He is a player who has got a good future ahead of him and I think it's important he gets as many games as he can," said the Burnley manager.
"We have loaned him back to Hamilton and hopefully he will get a lot of games and we will monitor him.
"With Danny Fox coming in it's better to send Brian out on loan so that he gets that experience.
"He's delighted to do that because he wants to play. It's great for his education and development."
