Robinson believes his priority is to continue playing well on a regular basis for his club and then see what happens.

 Rather than get too wrapped up in his chances to be on the plane to South Africa next summer, the Rovers keeper is focusing on his form.

"I am concentrating on my own performances, it is just about playing well," Robinson said.

"It is about consistency, playing well, consistently well and turning in good performances for Blackburn.

"I am just enjoying my football again, concentrating on my performances and just focusing on myself. Anything else which comes with it is a bit of a bonus."

The 29-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper won the last of his 41 caps in the European Championship qualifier defeat away to Russia in November 2007.

Since then, the likes of Scott Carson, Ben Foster, Joe Hart and most recently West Ham's Robert Green have all offered a challenge to David James for the number one slot.

Foster's chest injury is the official reason which has ruled the Manchester United stopper out of contention for the World Cup qualifiers against Ukraine and Belarus, while Portsmouth veteran James returns after missing five successive internationals after deciding to undergo shoulder surgery in the summer.

England manager Fabio Capello was at Arsenal on Sunday to watch Robinson in action, and while the keeper was beaten no fewer than six times by the rampant Gunners in a 6-2 defeat, he also produced a number of fine saves.
