The Serbian joined United from Partizan Belgrade in January, but has only made two brief appearances as he acclimatises to English football in the reserves.

The 22-year-old, who possesses a strong left foot, is keen to impress in Sweden.

"I can't wait for it to start," Tosic said. "It will be a very good experience to play in the championship again and I'm very happy because of that.

"The championship is very good experience for every young player. I have to practice, to get stronger, to get faster, to be better in all aspects and I feel the U21 championship will help me and I can prove I'm a United player.

"The people from Serbia expect us to do well and we hope we can, but it is one thing to talk about winning, we have to go there and prove we are the best. What is important is how you come into the game. If you are concentrated and every player wants to win that is all that is important, not names."

Tosic made his United debut from the bench in January's FA Cup win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Serbia face Italy, Sweden and Belarus in Group A.
