Fulham moved up to seventh and continued their push for a place in Europe with a comfortable victory.
Two goals from Diomansy Kamara and a penalty by captain Danny Murphy ensured the Cottagers overcame a poor Villa side who had re-established parity until the interval thanks to a strike from Ashley Young.
But Kamara struck twice in the second-half to keep the Cottagers on course for a place in next season's Europa League while Everton's draw with Tottenham Hotspur saw them close the gap on fifth-placed Villa.
