As part of the Premier League's 'Creating Chances' initiative, the Hull City midfielder, who has been a big hit for the Tigers so far this season, went along to see the 'Dot Hepton Family History Group'. He was following in the footsteps of team-mate Dean Windass who was presented with his family tree earlier in the year.

Geovanni was shown how Windass' roots were traced and group members Pauline Hearson and Sandra Ward chatted to the Brazilian about the possibility of piecing together his family history.

six generations

The 28-year-old revealed that he has already briefly looked into his family tree and said: "My grandmother was Spanish and had a Spanish surname. I got a lot of this information five years ago but it will probably be another two before I have all that I need to know.

"If possible I would like to go back five or six generations as it is something that really interests me but I'm not sure if I will be able to as it is very difficult to find the information. I think Dean (Windass) is very lucky that he had somebody else to do it for him!"
