Dove House are one of Hull City's official charities this season and as part of the Premier League 'Creating Chances' scheme, the City manager was given a guided tour of the Hospice where he was greeted with great excitement by staff and patients alike. Brown spent over an hour chatting, signing autographs and having photos taken on a visit that Dove House staff revealed had done wonders to raise spirits ahead of the Festive period.

The Tigers manager himself thoroughly enjoyed the visit and said: "It is great to be able to come down here and try to give people a lift. It is not easy coming up to Christmas so it is great for me to come down here and put a smile on people's faces.

"My grandma and grandfather were in a place very similar to Dove House when I was growing up so I am used to coming to places like this. This is personal for me and the people who work here do a truly fantastic job.

"I was speaking to the League Manager's Association and they were saying it's so important that you do get yourself and your team out of the headlights, come to places like this, talk to people who are in the stands, talk to people who can't even afford to go to the games, and all of a sudden you've got a good level of perspective."
