Aaron Mokoena began Blackburn Rovers' Creating Chances campaign visiting Sudell Primary School in Darwen.
The South African captain took part in a 'Superhero' session, which was hosted by staff from the school and the club's Community Trust.
Rovers Superheroes
Aaron engaged with pupils and parents, who had been tasked with creating designs and identities for a team of Rovers Superheroes, who were required to save the planet - and more importantly Ewood Park - from an imminent meteor attack!
Headteacher Laura Pooles said: "I am absolutely delighted with the programme that Rovers have introduced. It was fantastic to have Aaron Mokoena here, as he is a real role model for the pupils and his visit is something that I'm sure they will always remember."
Vicky Moore, literacy co-ordinator and assistant headteacher, added: "Boys writing is a national issue and is something we are constantly looking to address. Having a male role model here at the school shows that, as well as football, writing can be cool too."
Creating Chances is the Premier League's flagship good cause programme, which was launched last season and showcases the vast amount of work that the 20 top-flight clubs do in their local communities.
