Ledley King claims his Tottenham Hotspur team-mates are hurting following their poor start to the season.
Spurs are without a win in their seven matches so far, leaving them rooted to the bottom of the Barclays Premier League table.
Captain King said: "It's not a nice time for everyone involved. To be bottom of the league is not good enough, to be honest, with the quality of players we have. We should be doing better.
trample on
"The players are really trying on the training pitch and on matchdays to get it together but it just hasn't happened for us, especially as an attacking force.
"It's down to the players to change things and we'll continue to work hard and try to find some consistency in our play.
"We have to believe we're going to turn it around. No-one is going to help when you are down there, clubs will trample on us to get above us. We have enough quality and we have to bring that out. It's time to do that."
