Everton's Mikel Arteta is hopeful the international break will work in the club's favour after their slow start to the term.
The Toffees, who finished fifth in the Barclays Premier League last season, have managed just two wins in their opening seven top-flight matches, conceding 11 goals in the process.
David Moyes' side have also endured poor outings in the UEFA Cup and Carling Cup, exiting both competitions at early stages.
The club's next match is a trip to Arsenal on 18th October, and Arteta is keen to use time spent on the training ground to reflect and work on improving their form.
"At this moment, the break could be the best thing for us," he said.
keep conceding
"We need to have a look at what we are doing. We can't keep giving two goals away every game. It is so hard to win in the Premier League in the first place.
"But if you keep conceding so many goals, you will win maybe one out of six games. To score three goals in the Premier League is very hard.
"But we are making things easy for the teams we play against. We are panicking every time they get near us.
"I don't know how we are going to change things but we have got to make sure it happens fast. We are doing everything.
"We are looking at videos, working on the pitches, changing the shape of the team. We know it must change soon."
