Manager Paul Ince is pleased keeper Jason Brown marked his first Blackburn Rovers start with a win.
The 26-year-old former Gillingham keeper made only his second Barclays Premier League appearance in place of the injured Paul Robinson in the 2-1 win at Newcastle United.
First choice stopper Paul Robinson is currently sidelined with a calf injury.

And Ince said: "Jason held some good crosses, it is never easy, he has had to be patient.
"He comes in every day, he's smiling, he's happy, he works hard and he dealt with everything.
"So it's pleasing for him, it's a shame he didn't keep a clean sheet but it is nice to say he got three points."
