A ballet company, a donkey riding therapy charity and an OAP's social club are just some of the 20 worthy winning organisations that will be receiving visits from star footballers as part of the Premier League's Creating Chances Places for Players programme along with a share of £480,000.

Places for Players is our high profile initiative that uses Barclays Premier League footballers to highlight the diverse and wide-ranging community and good cause work carried out throughout the year by the 20 Barclays Premier League clubs.

raise awareness

At every club from September to November the Premier League turns the spotlight on the local community. Players will be out in force up and down the country highlighting club community projects. As part of the League-wide programme of visits one player per club has been made exclusively available to a local cause. Over the summer not-for-profit organisations were invited to apply through a National Application Process to 'win' a Premier League player from their local club and £4,000 to raise awareness of the work that they do in their area.

The organisations were asked what they would do with a Premier League player should they 'win' him and what they would do with the £4,000 donation. From the thousands of entries received every Barclays Premier League club has chosen a good cause in their local community to receive a player visit and £4,000. In addition, each club has also chosen five organisations in their community who will also receive a £4,000 donation from the Premier League.
