Bolton Wanderers striker Ebi Smolarek is settling well to life at the Reebok Stadium.
The Poland frontman arrived on loan just before the closure of the transfer window, but was not able to make his debut until last weekend after the international break and a family bereavement.
And although he was disappointed with the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in his first appearance, the 27-year-old believes he will only get better as the weeks go by.
"It's getting better every day and because I want to play with these players then you have to get to know them," he told the club's official website. "It was difficult at first because I didn't know them and they didn't know me so it wasn't easy, but it is nice to be accepted by the players and they have all supported me.
train together
"It was my first match and I'd only trained twice with the squad but it was enjoyable and I liked the crowd because they supported the team even though we lost the game.
"I think I did the job that I had to do and I know I can do more and I will do more. It wasn't an easy game but we have to look forward to the next match. We'll train together all week and see what happens on Saturday."
