Robin van Persie scored twice as Arsenal claimed a 3-0 victory against Newcastle United.
Van Persie opened the scoring with a penalty after 18 minutes.
Charles N'Zogbia was deemed to have handled a cross from Emmanuel Adebayor, and the Dutch striker made no mistake from 12 yards.
Newcastle could have levelled through Michael Owen, before Van Persie made it 2-0 with four minutes to go to the break and Brazil youngster Denilson wrapped things up in the second half.
