Arsenal coasted into the group stages of the Champions League with a 4-0 victory over FC Twente.
The Gunners, leading 2-0 from the first leg in Holland, impressed from the kick-off and it was no surprise when they went ahead through French winger Samir Nasri after 27 minutes.
Theo Walcott broke down the right and pulled the ball back to the far side of the box where Robin van Persie stretched to prod it into the path of Nasri. The £12million French winger weaved past his marker before sending in a low shot, which took a slight defection as it rolled into the net.
cool finish
Captain William Gallas added another at the start of the second half, slotting home from close range after Nicklas Bendtner`s shot had been saved.
Walcott got the goal his all-action display merited, scampering clear and producing a cool finish into the bottom-right corner to make it three, with Bendtner adding a last-minute tap-in to make it a disappointing return home for former England manager Steve McClaren.
Liverpool made it into the group stages of the Champions League thanks to a 117th minute strike from Dirk Kuyt against Standard Liege. Last season he scored seven goals in the competition and with three minutes left of extra time in their qualifier, he bagged the winner that sends the Reds into the lucrative group stages.
Kuyt has now scored nine goals in his last 15 European appearances, and how Liverpool needed his goal touch here against a brave Liege side who pushed them to the limits.
