Arsenal - After 22 years at the club, physio Gary Lewin has left Arsenal to join the Football Association as England's Head of Physiotherapy. He has been succeeded by his cousin Colin who has worked alongside him for 13 years and who will now be the man running on to the pitch to treat injured players.
Aston Villa - Former Aston Villa striker Cyrille Regis believes the experience of John Carew will be vital for Martin O'Neill's young side this season. Regis, who starred for Villa between 1991 and 1993, said: "John has the experience needed to nurture good youngsters like Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young. He is an old head in there. He leads the line well, holds the ball up and causes massive problems for defenders."
Bolton Wanderers - Gary Megson is looking for Joey O'Brien to establish himself as a top-class player this season. The Republic of Ireland international midfielder missed the whole of the 2006/07 campaign with a serious knee injury but bounced back strongly to make 26 appearances last term and Megson said: "He (Joey) has not missed any training, he has done everything that is required of him and I am sure he will become a top player with the more games he plays."
Blackburn Rovers - Steven Reid should be fit for Blackburn's Barclays Premier League home match against Hull City. The winger picked up a slight knee injury in training with the Republic of Ireland this week but played the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against Norway.
Chelsea - Eight of the world's top Under-16 teams will join a festival of football at Chelsea's Cobham training ground on Saturday. Ajax, Bayern Munich, River Plate, Suwon Samsung Bluewings, Disney Soccer All-Stars, Russian side Tolyatti and Lebanon's Al-Nejmeh will join Chelsea in the three-day tournament to unveil the club's new Academy and Community Replacement Building. It will be formally opened by Sir Trevor Brooking who said: "The facilities at Cobham are at tribute to how much stock the club places in developing young talent."
Everton - Yakubu has pinpointed Mikel Arteta as one of Everton's key performers. He said: "Mikel has the vision and he works for the team, if he doesn't play, the team doesn't play and we need players like that. He gives us more options."
Fulham - Fulham's first home match of the season against Arsenal has now sold out with only a few remaining hospitality seats left available for Saturday's Barclays Premier League fixture. .
Hull City - The Club are hoping for a big following to see Hull City's first ever away match in the Barclays Premier League. Tickets for the visit to Blackburn are now on general sale.
Liverpool - Jamie Carragher acknowledges the task of winning the Barclays Premier League has never been harder. Liverpool are chasing an elusive 19th title and Carragher said: "Years ago you could probably get away with carrying the odd player here or there. The standards have been raised much higher over the past five to 10 years, especially with the Chelsea situation and what's happening there. That means our standards have to be higher."
Manchester City - Record signing Jo is unlikely to be available to make his Manchester City debut at home to West Ham United - even though Brazil are now out of the Olympic tournament. Manager Mark Hughes explained: "As I understand it, it is a FIFA designated game so he still has to be around Brazil squad. The arrangements are that he will be back with us on Saturday morning and ready to train on Monday morning.
Manchester United - Wes Brown is backing Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez to fire the goals Manchester United have been missing in recent weeks when the pair are reunited against Portsmouth on Monday. Tevez missed the 1-1 draw at home to Newcastle United because of a family bereavement but played for Argentina against Belarus in Minsk and is expected to resume his partnership with Rooney at Fratton Park. Brown, who scored his first goal for England against the Czech Republic on Wednesday, said: "We've not scored too many goals recently. But we've had quite a few injuries so I'm not too concerned."
Middlesbrough - Gareth Southgate has revealed he substituted striker Sanli Tuncay against Tottenham Hotspur in order to save him from burn-out. The Turkish international covered vast ground in the 2-1 win but was taken off for his own good. Southgate said: "Tuncay is a fabulous player and got us going from the start against Spurs. I took him off in the second half because he was going to run himself into the ground but I was delighted with him."
Newcastle United - Jonas Gutierrez cannot wait to experience the Gallowgate roar for the first time. The Argentine ace is already a big hit with the Toon Army and is relishing his first home match in the Barclays Premier League when Newcastle United host Bolton. He said: "I have played there twice already but this will be the first time the stadium will be full. The fans were right behind us on Sunday... now I cannot wait to feel what that support will be like in our own stadium."
Portsmouth - Papa Bouba Diop feels Portsmouth's game may be better suited to facing Manchester United than Chelsea. Pompey lost 4-0 at Stamford Bridge and now host Sir Alex Ferguson's men but Diop said: "Chelsea played with five good players across the middle and we found it very difficult. It was different when we played Manchester United at Wembley. They played four across the middle and we could play one-for-one."
Stoke City - The Potters are trying to rush through Abdoulaye Faye's work permit in time for their Barclays Premier League match at home to Aston Villa. The former Newcastle United star has agreed a deal subject to a work permit which has been held up because he has not played the necessary number of fixtures for Senegal. The club are now awaiting confirmation from the Senegal FA that Faye would have been selected if he had not been injured.
Sunderland - Dwight Yorke came through 70 minutes as Sunderland Reserves won 5-1 in a friendly at Consett. Yorke was returning to action after fracturing a cheekbone in Portugal in July. Jordan Cook and David Dowson each scored twice with Dan Madden heading the fifth.
Tottenham Hotspur - Jonathan Woodgate made the 200th league appearance of his career against his home-town club Middlesbrough. Although Spurs lost 2-1 Woodgate remains optimistic saying: "It will take a little time for everyone to settle, but fortunately it's only the first game - I'm sure all the players will have learned a lot."
West Bromwich Albion - Baggies fans are flocking to see their first home match back in the Barclays Premier League. The visit of Everton is now a complete sell-out.
West Ham United - James Collins has spoken of his relief after coming through his first action since damaging knee ligaments in January. The Wales defender came through 45 minutes of a Reserve match and said: "I think it was the most nervous I have ever been before a game in my life but I got through it and I am just looking forward to the next match now."
Wigan Athletic - Erik Edman has resumed light training after a long lay-off with a knee injury. The Swedish international left-back damaged knee ligaments in March and is on schedule for a possible return to action in October. He said: "I have started to do some outside work as well as some small exercises with the ball and I hope to be able to join in with the boys in around eight weeks."
