The former Brazil and Portugal coach has overseen dominant victories in his first two matches at the club, albeit against vastly inferior opposition, as Chelsea defeated Guangzhou Pharmaceuticals 4-0 and Chengdu Blades 7-0 during their tour of the Far East.

Kalou has backed his new coach to bring success back to Stamford Bridge and said: "I have a very good impression of him. He is a great trainer and I enjoy working with him and I believe we can do something big for Chelsea this year."
