The Tigers have signed a number of players this summer, including Geovanni, Bernard Mendy and Peter Halmosi.

"What amazes me is that they have the right setup," said Boateng, who recently signed from Middlesbrough.

"The players are very keen, everyone is lively, they can't wait to get a taste of the Premier League, so for me they are not too far behind.

"All they need to do is push on to the next level.

"I think if you look at the way this club is doing it, it is healthy.

"I think most clubs when they come up buy a lot of players but they are not Premier League- based players.

"They are still of a Championship level because they are scared that if they do go down they have this financial burden.

"But I think Hull has tried to get Premier League players on a very good budget, in a sense that they are value for money. I think this team has a good chance."
