Crouch made his Pompey debut against Swindon Town in a pre-season friendly on Friday and, having signed from Liverpool, thinks the club's ambitions can match his own.

He told the club's official website: "I feel at home in this part of the world and I feel settled here.

"Hopefully I can stay here for the remainder of my four-year contract and then beyond that. I can see myself ending my career here.

"This is a side moving forward and I think we can achieve everything I want to achieve.

"This is a club on the up and that's why I joined."
