Bolton Wanderers manager Gary Megson says he will be patient in his pursuit of new players.
The former West Bromwich Albion manager is keen to avoid a repeat of last season's relegation scrap but will not be rushed into any prospective deals.
"We've got our targets we would like to bring in over the course of the summer," he said.
"But initially you will find the really huge clubs will get their business done, because finance isn't an issue for them. They just get what they want.
good deal
"Then it goes quiet throughout June, before it starts to pick up a little bit with players who might not be available now becoming available in two months' time.
"It's not a case of it being tough, you just want to get in the best players you possibly can.
"But we are a football club that doesn't do stupid things. It's not just a case of getting them in at any cost, because then it doesn't become a good deal.
