Reading's Marek Matejovsky has revealed his sadness at being relegated in his first season in English football.
The 26-year-old scored once in 14 appearances for the Royals - a goal of the season contender against Liverpool - following his arrival from Mlada Boleslav in January, but could not prevent the club from being relegated.
"I really did not expect we would go down," he said.
"I did not expect I would experience something like this in my first spell abroad. All the time I did not even suppose it could end like this.
worst dream
"I don't know at all what will happen in the future, I don't see much into the club management.
"I believe though that they will want to return as soon as possible and I am sure we have the potential to achieve that. It is a big blow. I have not thought even in the worst dream that my first season abroad would end up with relegation. I feel really sad."
