McFadden, 25, signed a three-and-a-half year deal when he joined from Everton in January and says he would not seek a quick exit if the Blues suffer the drop.

Alex McLeish's men need to defeat Blackburn Rovers at St Andrew's and hope neither Fulham nor Reading win this weekend to retain their top flight status.

McFadden said: "I haven't really given my own situation much thought, although there is obviously a good chance we could go down.

right result

"I have only just arrived at the club and I'm not looking to leave in a hurry.

"Hopefully we will get the right result on Sunday, we stay up, and I won't need to worry about anything."

McFadden has been named the inaugural Scottish Football Writers' International Player of the Year.

And he added: "I don't think playing in the Championship would affect me in terms of Scotland.

"If I'm playing every week and scoring goals, it shouldn't make a difference what level I'm playing at."
