Chelsea's penultimate match of the season is at St James' Park next Monday and Avram Grant's side need a victory to ensure the title race with Manchester United goes to the last day of the season.

But Cameroon midfielder Geremi - who spent four years at Chelsea before moving to the Magpies last summer - says there will be no room for sentiment.

big opportunity

"I'm sorry for Chelsea but that's football," Geremi told the club's website. "We are not going to let them come to win. We have to give them a good game and enjoy it.

"It's the last game at home, in front of our fans, against one of the big teams.

"We've been playing well in the last few weeks and it's a big opportunity to send a message, it's a big test for us to see how far we can go."
