The 26-year-old defender, who supported the Hammers as a boy and who helped them avoid relegation last season, moved to Craven Cottage in the summer.

He told Fulham's official website: "There's no doubt we can get a result on Saturday.

"I think the players here are up for a fight, whereas West Ham know they're not going to get relegated and I think they'll be happy with a top 10 finish.

Konchesky, who made 59 appearances for West Ham, believes the Fulham supporters have an important role to play in the potential victory. 

He added: "If the fans get behind us like they did against Villa then who knows what can happen? Hopefully we can get three points and our season can start  then."
