The Czech Republic striker will spend the rest of the season on loan at Fratton Park after struggling to establish himself in Ligue 1 following his move from Aston Villa.

The former Liverpool player passed a medical on Sunday and will enhance manager Harry Redknapp's attacking options.

Redknapp intends to give Baros a debut in Wednesday's Barclays Premier League match against Manchester United.

"With the four boys at the African Nations Cup we are now down to one striker in Benjani Mwaruwari and we need Baros
," said Redknapp, prior to the player passing his medical.

"He will be available for Wednesday."
