Taylor signed for Bolton Wanderers from Portsmouth only last week for £3.5million.

The 26-year-old made his debut against Newcastle United on Saturday and looked impressive in the scoreless draw against Kevin Keegan's side.

And now he wants to build on his bright debut and keep the club in the top flight.

DIPPING VOLLEY

Taylor said: "The main objective is to maintain our Premier League status and I would like to help out.

"I've got to repay the manager's faith in me. There are 15 cup finals left and I want be a part of them as much as possible."

Taylor scored some memorable goals for Pompey last season, including a 45-yard dipping volley against Everton, and played a crucial role in helping Portsmouth escape relegation the season before that.

And his new manager Gary Megson will be hoping his experience proves invaluable.
