Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor has won a Barclays Golden Boot Award after scoring ten league goals this season.
In addition to his award, Adebayor will receive a £1,000 donation for the charity of his choice.
The Arsenal striker scored his landmark tenth goal during the Christmas North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, when he notched the opening goal in a 2-1 victory at the Emirates Stadium.
early pacesetters
Adebayor was amongst the early pacesetters in the Race for the Golden Boot along with Portsmouth's Benjani Mwaruwari and Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United. The Red Devils winger currently sits three goals ahead of Adebayor in the Barclays Premier League goalscoring chart with 16 strikes to his name so far this season.
Adebayor could become the first Arsenal player to pick up the Barclays Golden Boot Award since Thierry Henry picked up the accolade for the 2001/2 season after netting 24 league goals.
